오랫만에 넓고 넓은 맑고도 푸른 바다를 봐서 그랬던 걸까, 한참이나 네 생각이 나더군.
참 많이도 힘들었다고 생각하면서도 지워지지 않는 너의 기억을 그냥 가지고 살아가는게
내 머릿속에서 어떻게 하면 완전히 지워버릴 수 있을까 고민하는것 보다 쉬울거 같아.
무척이나 궁금해. 어떻게 지내고 있을지.
그리고 최선을 다하고 있어. 아무리 궁금해도 절대 행동으로 옮기지 않도록.
그래도 말이야, 언제 어디서든 네가 살아 있다는걸 아는 것만으로도 난 설레이고
가슴이 벅차 오를꺼야.

Apple’s Magic Trackpad

I have a Macbook pro(early 2008 version), and I always loved it’s trackpad for precise
performance. Although I do a lot of design work in my macbook pro, I use trackpad
more often then mouse once I get used to it. I still use mouse for the works that require
more detail, but I use trackpad most of the time.
Last year, I changed my desktop PC with new iMac after I thought I can fully migrate into
Mac platform, and it wasn’t hard since I feel more comfortable using osX then Windows.
However, I don’t like it’s new magic mouse that comes with iMac. It looks great! and
looks even better with my white desk, and it is somewhat magical compare to what
ordinary mouse can do. But!, I just hate how its design is not ergonomic. In fact,
I don’t understand how apple can design a mouse like this, and almost force(yes force!)
consumers to use this. Not only the Magic mouse, but it seems that Apple also makes
its new gadgets without considering ergonomic as far as I can experience. This new
Magic Trackpad, although I think they should call it just Multi-touch trackpad, or
something like iTrackpad, is too minimalistic that it only cares about its functionality.
Despite the fact that I already bought it and I love what it can do, I wish it had better
DESIGN so it can be more magical. At least change the angle of it, so it can be flat or
parallel to the ground. My wrist hurts, Apple.
In addition, I wonder why Apple names new gadgets with “Magic” where it is not
really magical at all. All I can say is that they know how to sell their products without
giving too much effort on marketing by adding the magic word “Magic”. OR they might
simply want to transform existing input experience from mouse and keyboard’s click &
push to TOUCH. What they will get out of this transformation is “Whole new MAGICAL
way of interacting with computers”, such as Magic iMac with touch screen. Brilliant!

I went Atwater market few days ago, and I liked how they changed layout of the outside
markets. I got this picture, because I loved this bright red and mixture with white!

성민이 형과 밤늦게 차를 타고 가며 얘기를 하다 옛날 여자친구와의 헤프닝을
이야기 하게 되었어. 나도 비슷한 경험이 있었기에 듣다보니 잠시 옛 생각이 나더라구.
영화관에서 가방까지 놔두고 알수 없는 이유로 네가 사라졌을때 너무나 놀란마음에
택시를 타고 너네 집으로 향했고 혹시나 그냥 지나칠까 지하철역, 버스정류장, 너의
집앞을 조마조마에 하며 기다렸던 저녁. 지금도 그때를 생각하면 넌 왜 그렇게
사라졌을까 궁금해. 싫은게 있었으면 말로 하지 말도 없이 그냥 도망가 버리다니.
네 가방이 내 손에 있었기에 언젠가 돌려주기 위해서라도 만나야 된다는걸 알면서도
그 자리에서 그렇게 버려진거 같은 느낌에, 그렇게 떠나가 버릴꺼 같은 걱정에
마음을 조리며 뛰었던 기억이 나네.

new hotmail, i hate.

I have been using hotmail for a decade now, although many of people i know switched to
gmail. I was going to switch to gmail about two years ago, but I couldn’t do it simply because
I had this hotmail address for so long time, and is too significant for me . So, I decided to use
gmail account just for the ‘ebay’, so I don’t have to read all the ad, and email going back and
forth from the ebay. Meantime, I expected hotmail to improve on their interface, and
finally they did it! after long, long waiting. Well, I was excited to see the changes, and
my excitement moved to disappointment not long after I tried it. I can’t believe how it
laid out the buttons. Was it necessary to have a two column botton layout ?
Also, hotmail is called LIVE mail now and included in Microsoft Live page. This means that
I have to see all other junks including social networking sharing. I see that all the new social
networking services are trying to copy either facebook’s design, or method of connecting
people, but come on! it’s too similar to facebook, and funny part is that I can even connect
my facebook account with it.
I was expecting Microsoft to bring more innovative user experience even to this small
part of their services, but again Microsoft never lets me down. You simply suck, hotmail.

0 and 1 transformation

This is written in processing which takes camera image and transforms it into 0 and 1.
Based on background subtracting algorithm, background image becomes 0 where
any movement becomes 1 with corresponding color of the moving pixel.

flickr tag visualization(data visualization) 2009.12
This program, written in Processing, takes XML feed from flickr site which returns
popular tags for given period of time. Then, it sorts all the tags and visualize it in real time.
However, user can navigate through into 3D space to get close to individual tag and
interact with keyboard to find co-occurring tags.
Moreover, this is completely rewritten from previous one, which makes be able to take
any similar XML feed and visualize it in same manner.
